I like this a lot, are those photography umbrellas reflected in his eyes? - if so, it still works for me - 8 |

Wonderful portrait. He seems to be considering something. And there appear to be umbrellas in his eyes ;-) |

I love black cats! My cat is pure black and she is the sweetest! I love this pet portrait! I love the simplicity and the composition! Is that two light umbrellas reflected in the eye? Other than that - wounderful! |

This is so freaking hard. Well done! I might have cloned the umbrella reflections from the eyes but it is a tiny nit. |

This is stunning. I wish the reflections in the eyes weren't so obviously umbrellas though. It might be interesting to see what it would look like with the bars of the umbrellas cloned out. |

I wish you couldn't see the lighting umbrellas so clearly in Frank's eye |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Quite something to pull off a pet portrait and make it edgy. I love the paucity of colour here and the focus and composition is fantastic. I really like the umbrella catchlights too!
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: A great image - I wouldn't have expected to like a cat picture as much as this. |
