these people are dumb. don't change a thing. i run into this choice mainly in IMing :) i mean...uh ;)
edit: these people are not dumb...that was a bit reactionary. they are somewhat closeminded to interpretations outside the "box" (i.e. responses such as "so?" from people that do not participate in any challenges(go watch tv if you want to be spoonfed entertainment) or criticisms of "boring subject" from people that shoot dryers, tree trunks, and cereal) ;) sorry guys i must vehemently disagree with you :)
and CLEAN THE KEYS??? TEXTURE PEOPLE! imagine a nice new deck scrubbed down with Mr. Sparkle - stale. sterile. standard.

How about while you're thinking about it you give the keyboard a once over with some lysol? lol |

Well - I guess that's a choice - rather obtuse, but a choice. Composition is nicely done on a diagonal - but please clean that keyboard! It's a wonder it works (if it does.) |

Very nice take on the challenge. Passive image with an active sense of choice, very sharp. Good Job. |

Picture of a boring subject, taken of an extremely dirty subject, which really doesn't convey "choices" except by being shoehorned in by the title. Sorry, doesn't do much for me. |

never a choice; always a rule. |

is this totally feeble or absolute genius? not entirely sure, perhaps a bit of both. i'm also not entirely sure that this fits the challenge - isn't the selection actually pre-determined following certain grammatical laws? Is using "grammatical" grammatically correct? who knows!? technically, it's ok - the shallow DOF works well on the key, but the colon is a bit out of focus. slightly higher aperture might have brought more of the important key in focus. notwithstanding it's technical attributes, it's still (unfortunately) a bit of an uninspiring shot (as is most stuff beige and plastic). i think voters on the whole would penalise any shot of this nature no matter the quality of the shot, so it's always best to step outdoors and to at least pretend you have made a bigger effort. i do like it for some reason though - don't know if it's the graininess, style, overall silliness or what... 5. |
