This was taken 2am London time, 4 hours before the deadline.
I hadn't bothered trying to get anything serious for this challenge because everytime I pick up my dslr to go shoot something for a challenge I get frustrated since I'm used to the quality that is delivered by medium format film.
Anyhow, I thought I had to enter something for this challenge so I just grabbed by cam and tripod and took this 50m away from my home.

I really don't give rats ass about the score but that some people didn't see the decay part of this photograph disappoints me...
There's an obviously abandoned house (it's part of an abandoned factory) on the right, then there's a car that is damaged and just sits there in the parking lot, and of course the dead end train tracks leading to a forgotten part of the city's history. This is where the niche comes into playing.

Urban niches

The more I look at this one the more I like it. So sublime, definitely not for an everyday photo consumer.

If people couldn't see decay in this shot, they weren't looking. It meets the challenge well, is well composed, and nicely lit. It's a good photo.
ETA: My husband said if people don't see urban decay here, he wonders where they live. :) And BTW one of the things I like best about this photo are the four distinct blocks of color. Nice geometry.

Hugely underated in my opinion. I didn't get round to voting in this challenge but this would have scored highly by me. There is a great sense of melancholy and slow decay about the shot.

Not much decay visible.
Only building on right might qualify.

You must live in a place with good planning and zoning?

I don't see the connection to the theme, sorry......3

Just coming off as a snapshot to me I'm afraid. The composition leads my eye to the X near the center where it finds nothing to look at.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at here. The first thing that caught my attention was the light and the car below. No vote, I'm in this one.

I must admit I am not getting this. Is it about the car that is damaged and has found its niche behind a fence? Is it about the night light who's niche is to light up the cars (which wouldn't be decay I guess).

On top of that I don't find the composition very interesting either. I do like the lighting and the interesting things on the side of the building. Is that a white angel with red highlights? I just think this scene had lots of potential but you didn't pick any one thing to concentrate on.
