the tones are a bit flat..could use some punch! If the natural lighting was good then it's probably your camera setting.

The EGRET! Much more graceful. A good black and white - but I don't particularly like the bird on the left cut in half. Hope you stayed there a while and shot several more. The water has a wonderful texture/pattern.

I love the shot of the birds but it's a bit out of focus. I'm no expert but I think if the shot was made to include all the 4 birds with framing the shot a little to the left will take away the dead space on the right, also the duckling looks a bit tad to dark. 6

The composition of this image strikes me straight away. Its always so impressive when someone catchs a natural scene with such a visual balance. The reflection on the water really highlights the tall white bird as does the contrasting textures and tones of the other birds. I think this is a simply beautiful picture.

someone wrote in the forum (wisely I think) that the image should convey the challenge even without the title. I think this image is nice- but without the title it doesn't really convey choice. Also - the black and white seems to lose some detail from the birds, and make them less interesting. I think color would have worked here nicely. Good composition and framing as well.

they don't seem to be in focus, or at least the image is very soft. it might help to use a smaller aperture - you appear to have plenty of light for it here.

Neat alignment of the birds - almost looks like you arranged them! Nice to see a bird/water shot that makes good use of frame space. Would like a bit more sharpness, but that's of course subjective.

Hey! how about all of them? But really, I love how they are all facing the same way, like they're posing.
