The placement of the post is very distracting.

you should have moved to the side to get rid of that centered post or place it elsewhere in the frame so that it did get too much attention. it is distracting from your subject as iti is.

the fence post in the foreground is distracting ...

The buildings in the back look so interesting, but that post right in the middle is much too emphasis-heavy. Maybe shoot through the barbed wire instead? That way you'd still have a foreground element, but it would complement the background instead of detract from it.

Not a bad choice.....I think I might have made the house more of the central subject......good color & detail.....6

I like the soft focus, I used it too and am getting unfavorable comments. Hope you're not.

Colors are great, nicely exposed and pin-sharp. Has a lot of potential in these old buildings, but it's not coming off exceptionally well to me. Best I can figure is that it is the plain composition. Plus, that pole in the middle just grabs my eye and tries to be the main subject, instead of my eye being drawn through the frame more easily. Sorry.

The fence post is an obstruction/barrier to the rest of the image
