Grandparents are a special gift. It sounds like you were especially blessed. I'm so sorry for your loss.

This is a wonderful portrait as it captures the ages and lines of hard won years of wisdom and Life. Evocative, contemplative and the muted softer colours & ridged fabric lines enhance the feeling of time spent and lost. The expression of the eyes in this is superb and I like how she still has flowers in her hair.

I like the processing on this. Gives it that dramatic look.

The Post Processing gives this a really cool film look. It does have a very yellowish color cast. The high contrast and enhanced sharpening of the photo makes it loose a little of that loving feeling. I enjoy the Depth of Field which is spot on!

Well, if you do, give her a hug (in front of the camera). Otherwise, it is simply a portrait... not a symbol of love to anyone outside your family.

Her face tells so many stories. I would loved seeing here pictured more "softly"

She has an incredible face. I'm not sure if it's the camera or the processing (based on the great lighting, I'm going with processing), but it looks like there was a fair amount of data loss, which hurts the quality. There also appears to be a lot of chromatic abberation (particularly noticeable in the heavy cyan halo on the top right side of her head). It's too bad about the quality because this is an otherwise great image!
