I 'think' there are several problems with this shot.
1, my stupid computer, honest!!!! I have calibrated, but I do not think that it is showing right,
2. On board flash, on my computer, it does not looked washed out or high key. The chocolate is a little shiny, but not much,. I think again this could be down to calibration being wrong.
This shot was more of an experiment when it came to the crop. I hate shots with chopped off heads, but wanted to do one and do it so that it felt right to me. I do actually like the crop.
I am neither happy or sad about the score. It still means a lot to me as it is Charlie, doing what Charlie does best.

Thank you Heisch, I agree. I was trying something new with the crop and comp, not many people like the straight on look or crop/ I don't like chopped off heads but did want to try it out.
I think a lot of what my 1/2 problem is in this shot is the on board flash, bleaching it out , the other is my computer. I have really messed up on the calibration on this machine and something else has gone haywire. So I am not sure how washed out this shot actually is, but I have a feeling it is. Because on my comp, it is about 4 degrees cooler.
I still think this shot is brilliant, it is just Charlie, and it is Charlie doing what he does best. Being Charlie, chocolate an all!!!!
I can not wait for the new computer to get here!!!!!!!! lol
Juliet,
this picture for me is a PERFECT example of what we learn here at DPC about composition, exposure and all the other technical "stuff". And THEN we start applying all these technical things to our every day photography.
These shots are not popular here at all. BUT capturing precious moments, technically sound is a huge part of our life.
For basic editing (no touching up eyes,...) you did a great job with this photo. You just fell into the "unpopular" bucket :(
