This is the Australian King Parrot [male] that lives in our area and feeds off our native plants and preferably the seed pods on our old Camelias often bringing their young family with them.

I think the saturation looks alright here. You probably do have the reds to the right and above the bird's eye saturated, but it doesn't appear to blow out any detail (unless there was some there previously) and so I think it's ok. I think you did a good job pushing it to the edge, but not going over.

Wow, I'm drawn into his eye and the interesting black shape around it. Nice detail in the lower feathers too. Unfortunately, unless I get my monitor angled just right, the top of his head, and even down his neck, seems a little too saturated and all blends together into a bright reddish blob.

I think this definitely qualifies as a portrait, however how am I supposed to know this is a wild bird? I'll assume for now it really is, but I think this one needs at least one "context" image for support.

Also, killer detail on the feathers and eye.
