| I feel like the best part of this image (the details) has somewhat been obliterated. It seems the details are especially important due to your title, so I don't quite understand the approach taken. Great location for shots. |

| This location has so much personality so much character and so much potential that I can see from this piece it breaks my heart to look at this image. The flat completely washed out colours of this piece literally erase the details and any interest that might have been there. The only part of the image that even has any photographic integrity is the very bottom in the concrete and sand. I would love to give this a really low score. However being a free-study, perhaps this is your study so you get the benefit of the doubt. But for this viewer, it does not work at all. |

| Seems like a nice shot - decent composition, interesting place, but the processing hurts the overall image, IMO. |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: I really like the stark editing here, the blown walls work very well indeed and you have communicated the height of the building very well. I like how the textures have been brought out too.
Critical stuff: not too much, I like it as it is.
Overall: A very effective image which benefits from a well crafted edit and a great POV. |
