This is my neice, Raine, who you have seen before. She is 4 1/2. This was taken at my pre-Christmas visit. It's highly edited, but I like it that way. :)

No one is paying attention to the title. I like the stairs and don't find them a distraction at all. I like the balance of her face and the diagonal line connecting her to the stairs as well as the opposing diagonal of the hint of staircase.

I like the gritty B&W edit with all the noise. With all the darkness and the stairwell, it seems like a scene from a thriller movie. Great job.

Love the dreamy feel, Raine looks like a little doll in this. Such a pretty picture and your processing is perfect gives it a lovely vintage feel.

i dont use the term 'breathtaking' often judy but i will here, this one stopped me DEAD in my tracks. wow. my first fav in this side challenge!

i had to come back and add more, everything about this is great! the stairs up above and he little bit if flying hair makes a story.

young girl living in the inner city coming down the stairs of a large apartment complex, going out to play in the cold and noise of the city, i can hear the horns honking and traffic rushing....

Very moody and full of emotion - I really like the editing - the grainy feel lends itself well. What a gorgeous niece you have!

Very dramatic portrait. She almost seems sad, and the dark feel of the portrait kinda leads me toward that feeling also. The open white area to the right is a little distracting to me.

Cool albeit non-traditional edit. To my eye the white thing on the right adds some balance, but you might crop out about half of it so it plays a smaller part in the image.

I like the dark look to this photo. The contrast is awesome. The white object to the right is a bit distracting, though. Nice edit.
