Does the title have anything to do with the 1979 movie of the same name? It was a very interesting movie but I'm not sure if I see a connection or not... |

The grays could be improved. The grass looks washed out and oversharpened. Wonderful use of the desaturation though. It really brings focus to the old man. |

This is a great example of desaturation so I give you high marks for meeting the challenge. I like the overall picture here and if I knew this guy I would hang this on my wall. I think when selecting a photograph to apply the desaturation technique, I would find an area of the picture to enhance the main subject rather than to have the only color in the shot drawing my attention away from the main subject. (just my preference) but nice work all the same. |

I really like this shot - it's one of my favorites in the challenge. My only nitpick is that his face looks a little washed out. It might be better with a little burning and sharpening. Still, great job! |

I like this shot technically. It is very sharp, etc. I feel it would be much more effective if the gentleman were more "farmerly", i.e., overalls, etc. The shopping bag is a bit distracting as well. |

Either the wheel is huge or the old-timer is really short. Looks like an interesting old man. Bet he has some stories to tell you. |

Not sure I quite understand the title of this shot, I'm guessing it has something to do either with the man in the picture used to drive one of these trucks or he just happened to be in the area and you asked him to pose in front of the tire. I have to be honest, he doesn't do anything for the shot for me personally and the bag he is holding is very distracting. If you had just shot the tire without the man and then had the wheel red, with good contrasting black and white points this would have been an excellent shot. Also, I'm betting you used the history brush to bring back the red on the wheel. I have found that by enlarging the shot and using the brush you get better detail around the edges and better control On his left shoulder you can still see gray on the wheel and around the edges of the wheel and by the bottom of his sleeve on the right. And he's wearing blue pants? A hint of blue shows up around the pocket on the right. As is a 4, but if you reshoot and try this again with just the wheel, I would love to see it. |
