This shot is part of a series based on Trinity of the Matrix Movies.

Photo specs:
1) Done in a studio setup with a gray concrete wall as a backdrop.
2) I used one ABR800 Ring Flash unit using a 56" inch Moon Unit straight on and about 5 feet away from my subjects.
4) I shot this at F-14 and a shutter of 125 at 100 ISO.
7) I used a 85mm lense for this

Processing techniques used:
1) did levels at each channel (RGB)
2) DId curves to find true whites and blacks
3) did selective Coloring and darkened the reds a little
4) Dodge the face and burn the hair to bring those out a bit more.
5) burned the background to pop the subjects
7) Did selective saturation and selective colors
8) Sharpened eyes and lips
9) Created a black layer and made it with 30% opacity. Then created a layer mask to show that on the eyes. The catchlights are very strong with the moon unit on the ring flash. You need to tone that down.

I like the edgy lighting and the great happy faces - it contrasts and complements each other well

This is striking! Thanks for sharing so much of how you did it. It's a great study in getting this very unique effect of your subjects popping like that in such a dramatic 3-dimensional way.

Great eyes and teeth! Nicely posed, well lit. Backround burning to make the subjects pop had its desired effect.
