Yeah, I suppose photos like this are destined for the lower ranks of DPC, but of course that's just one of the quirks of DPC... I was one of your four 8's.

Got a 7 from me, but I'm one of the folks that likes abstract photography. BTW, I am very jealous of your performance in this challenge. The voting breakdown shows a dip in the 5's, with higher 4's and 6's around it. You have achieved a "love it or hate it" entry, which is one of my own goals. Looking at the breakdown some more, this entry also appears to have found it's share of fans. The way I read the results, this was a far more successful entry than many that averaged higher.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Uber-blurry, I like it! This image makes me think of process as much as product - what I mean is, although I can see and appreciate your product (the image), I am also pondering on your rationale for shooting and editing this subject in this particular way. To me, it looks like an image that has evolved from an edit rather than being contrived and deliberately manipulated into this form.

Critical stuff: Not much really, I suppose I'm not too keen on the what looks like red chromatic aberration, it doesn't sit well with the silky smooth colour transitions elsewhere in the image.

Overall: I'm sure you're getting hammered score wise, but I'm equally sure that there will be a good few people who like it too.

I really hope this does well for you. The blurred colors that melt into each other really makes this a piece of art. Very well done. Good luck!
