For anyone that was wondering Regal, my dog, did get a "treat" for letting me go get the camera before he got down. Yes it was a candid shot during dinner so I had a few angry family members when i turned up the lights and had to move chairs around to get the tripod in there

Greetings from the Critique Club. I enjoyed my first impressions of your photo. I chuckled at the thought he was pushing himself/herself away from the table(not that any dog I have ever owned would ever do that without nearly bursting first).

Focus is good, the dark areas of the dog are a bit dark and lose detail on the subject, which isn't always a bad thing, but on this photo I think it hurts it. The biggest issue i see with this is the clutter in the background keeps taking my attention off the subject. Perhaps a quick burn down of the brighter subjects and lightening the subject with levels or curves brings this score north of 5. Good luck in future challenges.

The heading makes it funny. The right side of the picture distracted me.
