I was trying to play around with the lighting but by the time I got setup it was nearly time to get the kids to bed, so this is the best I got. I was going for a high key, high contrast look but it's not quite what I wanted.

Nice sharply define portrait and catcher her in a very different expression. Nicely done! Would rotating the picture slightly clockwise add to it? I am just considering.

Good job on the lighting, you definately got some high contrast! It is kinda funny to see a "formal" portrait with such casual clothing and hair. It reminds me of all the hours I've put my kids through! My wife always says "at least let me brush her hair" and I always say "this is just for practice"...LOL.

I like this portrait. I usually don't like B&W. I think the reason is that I see a lot of people go to B&W conversion to try to salvage a bad image. Here though, the image is great! Nice and focused and sharp with good tones.
