 Just showing how I sometimes try to use the Golden Ratio in composition. The image without the overlay is below.
The squares is the ratio used in one direction and the line is the same ratio but flipped.

I started reading about this not too long ago. Thanks for posting this example. It makes a good tutorial piece.
