P.S. Just noticed you do have another one in voting - good to see! (I can tell because it says you've entered five challenges but only four are showing on your profile page right now.) |

Greetings from the Critique Club!
A lovely scene here and I can almost hear the water as it goes by. You did indeed get very good clarity and detail with your shot and the composition feels fairly well balanced to me. I wonder if you did try other compositions as well? One focused more on the rocks and water, then one focused more on the sky which includes the tops of the trees? I try to remember to do this, but usually forget (and really, we're not wasting film!) The light here is nice and soft, nothing seems over or underexposed. The shot does seem to be just a bit "flat"; all digital files from DSLRs require some bit of tweaking, and in this case I think a bit of curves and/or some additional contrast would not only help define the water a bit more, but also bring out that light on the trees and mist you're trying to emphasize here. It may be worth experimenting a bit - take it FAR beyond what you think is "natural" as far as contrast and saturation, for instance, then start pulling it back and see what you think.
I see you haven't entered many challenges - hope you'll enter a few more this year! |

Lovely tones in the trees. It looks really cold. |

I really like the depth of the scene. I wish there were just a bit more contrast to bring out the colors and beauty. Nice job. |

Nice shot but it seems a little flat. Maybe a little boost in contrast. |

did you run USM on this...IMO it could use a stronger hand with it...that being said...it's a beautiful picture, really nice soft tones...well done |

I have visions of you standing dangerously on some rock on the edge of the water to take this, probably because I've done that in the past too.
This is a nice shot, though it's a shame you've cut the tops of the far trees off, it would have been good to see those and what's behind. |

Looks like a nice place to go take pictures. bit overexposed in sections of the river but very nice and like the backlit leaves in trees |
