Thank you Julie, this is heart-warming.
Can you maybe invent a 'JuliBoc award/ribbon' that I could display on my home page?:)) |

Very clever shot, I do think though that it could have benefitted from less DoF so that the rolls of TP were sharp too. Anyway, love the shot and it made me laugh... Great expression, well done |

Service with a smile...Great find on this bathroom smiley. Composition is great but some technicals suffer. This has great potential to move up into the high above average category - mayhap even the exceptional. One problem is the depth of field (DOF). The toilet roll eyes are OOF (out of focus). Placing your camera on a steady surface or tripod you can then use a greater F-stop (maybe 8 or higher) along with a slower shutter speed to let in enough light to illuminate the subject. The greater F-stop will give you a greater DOF so that the eyes will be in sharp focus too. Lighting is a bit uneven. The left hand side is illuminated fine but the right side has deep shadows making the smile look uneven. Even using a small desk lamp brought in to sit on that side could/would even out the lighting. Lastly the crop may be a tiny bit tooo tight on the smile - pulling back or cropping a little less on the bottom portion will show off a touch more of the smile and reenforce the imagery of this being a toilet....although thinking that over more I'm not sure you want to make it that strong:-) |

Humorous subject. I'd like to see a little bit more DoF, but good as is. |

A bit more DOF would have helped a lot, I think. Great idea. |
