Lens: Lensbaby 1.0 (The Original)
Location: Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, Colorado
Date: Dec 14, 2009

This was taken at the Fairmount Cemetery in Denver. It's a Lensbaby shot, so probably won't do well. But it is my favorite of the year.

So far this is my lowest scoring shot on DPC, but still one of my favorite shots.

I don't understand why this was scored so low! I think this is a great image!

And look at all those comments! Beautiful, and underappreciated.

This may be your lowest but it inspired me to shoot one myself...

It's nowhere near as good as yours and my PP is way off... but it's my first attempt and I love the subject matter. All that from looking at yur lowest scoring image of 2009... score isn't everything!

Seems like not everyone agreed with me on this shot, I thought it was very interesting and that the grain added to it. I gave you a 7 :)

There is something here this, particularly in b/w, that I really like - it's probably the angle of the compostion and I'm enjoying the noise. It all works together, including the frame, for an excellent image.

Yay for the Lensbaby! (I hope I am guessing right) If it is, I love the dreamy effect of this heavenly statue! The grain of the shot gives it all the more an ethereal look to it.

the choice of focus and blur is solid - but i am not a big fan of photos of statues etc.

Earie feel to this with the grainy pp work and the subject matter of interest to go with it. Love the way it is soft at bottom and I think you succeeded in getting an old timeless feel of angelic being and the mysterie around it.

Hmm... I'm really hoping this is a lensbaby shot, otherwise I'll feel that I overscored you at a 6...

I think b&w and the grain really fit this shot.

The texture, focus, contrast, and perspective to me seem to all be working against each other......4

Excellent image - very emotive. The frame really adds nothing, but rather limits this amazing photo. Still giving an 8.

Interesting shot, lensbaby I'm guessing. I like the B&W processing, I think it fits in nicely with the style of shot, making it dreamlike in a sense.

I know that many DPCers will likely not take well to a photographed statue but, I look at this as a piece of art. It has a majestic vantage point and the editing is what really makes this interesting above the angle it was shot on. 8

I like the use of the Lensbaby (I'm guessing) and grain in this - does a good job of giving a sense of life to a lifeless statue. (The statue's maker deserves a bit of credit for the lifelike eyes as well.)

Interesting use of DOF (lensbaby?) in this photo.

it looks really grainy to me but in some cases that work this is borderline

I like this. Maybe I would like it better if you did the border a little different since the white line disappears at the top of the photo.
