My last Fresnel image was pretty popular, so here's another! This is a potted fig tree next to a dining room chair. Natural light is coming in from a window just outside of view to the left. This is a sixty second exposure.

About the camera
First, this is not a pinhole camera. The camera is actually a Helix cigar box about four inches deep. The "lens" is a credit-card sized pocket Fresnel magnifier (like this). The diaphrahm (black construction paper) has a circular aperture about half an inch in diameter (~f/8). It has an improvised sliding shutter (again, construction paper). Ilford RC multigrade paper, Ilford chemicals.

Almost has a Lensbaby look to it.

simply brilliant! You have captured chaos in a pleasing tonal range :) I love the little bird that has been created on the wall by the leaf shadow.

I've said it before, but it's really cool to see what you are doing with these non-digital cameras. There's something about the blur and shadow that really strikes a chord with me. Love it!

Thanks. Actually it is quite still. I think what you're seeing is softness from the (very) imperfect optics. It does give it the feeling that the whole scene is about to slide off the edges.

You have aa wonderful eye for picture and if these images dont prove it is the photographer and not his tools that is important i don't think any thing will!

the images forces your eyes to dart all over the image as there are things that attract your attention
like the blur of the chair to the fig tree then to the shadow on the wall even to the dark area bottom left

well done
