 She was sitting alone at a sidewalk cafe. I think I did a double take when I spotted her, and she gave me a radiant smile. I passed by, and when she was no longer aware of me, I shot this with a long lens. I wish I knew who she was. I'd love to meet her and share this photo with her.

Saw this now for the first time. It's quite beautiful, and deceptively simple-looking (by which I mean it's an apparently offhand portrait and yet its ordering of light, tone and texture, and of the subject herself, is near to perfect). How it can only have been rated 249th is a sad indictment of the lumpen, ovine state of the DPC mindset.
