From the Critique Club:
First: this is a first rate composition with the use of the feathers to frame the subject. The model is a beauty and the exposure is on the money although at the sacrifice of the top feathers. This study has a very pleasant and happy feeling.
The only serious drawback is that colorization was used. Since you used the eyes as the focal point they will be examined and re-examined over and over. Like I commented in the challenge, keeping the original eye color would have raised your score much higher. To have played a little with the feathers, in addition, may have brought this image into the top, but of course, it would have defeated your purpose of maintaining a central focus.
By the looks of this picture I can surmize that you will be making some very exciting images and we all look forward to seeing them. dan |

There sure are a lot of people with blue eyes in this challenge. This is one of the better "blue eye" shots though. |

Nice version of the eyes shot. Well framed and feathers make it work. 8 |

Some whites look a little bit washed out and probably could of used a fill flash |

Beautiful face and eyes. The lighting was not really your frind - many very bright areas in the featheres detract. |

I love the framing and clarity in this shot. Very simple selective desaturation, but it works well in this case.... 7 |

Precious take! The only thing I would do differently (and you have probably already heard this - sorry!) is I think the blue of the eyes is a bit too intense. The photo is very "natural" and soft; the eyes look bold and somewhat hard. This I am not sure of, but it seems that the eyes are often balanced, when done this way, by a slightly "tinted" mouth, also. Play with this -- it is a great shot! |

I like what you are doing, but the eye color seems a bit too unnatural. |

I like the high-key effect in this photo. The black and white create a nice contrast against the blue of her eyes. Nitpick- there appears to be a stray spot of blue outside the iris of her left eye. Very nice portrait and it fits the challenge well. |

beautiful picture, but the eye-color seems fake. I gave it 8 now, I think totally in color or B/W it would be a 9 or 10. |

Would be a winner if original color would have been used. |
