This get my vote for best floral photo in the best of challenge. Excellent use of light and contrast. Love the detail in the main subject, but the addition of the other flower in the background makes this much more than your run-of-the-mill flower photo. The relative minimalism of the image works well here, as does the border... subtle, yet effective. Nice work. |

This is a nice camera angle & lighting on this simple little flower. |

I love flowers presented in black and white. And this is well done. |

Don't care for the staggered border. Love the lighting and composition.....6 |

Lovely conversion , a unique presentation which I really like.
That defect on the petal is really distracting , wish you had removed it , 7 |

Nicely done black and white, emphasizing the excellent light. I'm enjoying the border and how it leads into the stem. |

the blemishes on the petals could have been cloned out...nice, simple image, good as a b and w...but lack wow factor 5 |

great picture, wonderful shadows...IMO since this was and advanced editing I think I would have gotten the two flaws out of the petals...other than that..a really good shot |

Love the detail in the backlit petals. Not too fond of the other flower in the background, it looks like a shadow. |

This just all works together to make a lovely image. I would think this would sell very well as a poster/stock image. It has appeal. |

Love the contrast. I think it would be better if there were only the one flower but that's just my opinion. Very nice shot. 7 |

Like the B&W conversion here, it works well and makes the petals look almost translucent.
The only thing I think I would have liked to see here would have been a little more empty space, as it is the flower is quite "in your face" and I think some more white would have balanced the delicateness. |

Nice fine details and tones. I'm not usually a big fan of florals, but I can still recognize when they are done well. |
