 The water in the fountain at 'Love' Park was dyed blue this past week. I took the base image in color purposely against a black and gray building thinking I could just de-sat the center of the picture behind the fountain. Of course there was so much purple on the building that it had to be done as well.
Post: Slight perspective/distortion correction and crop. Adjustment layers for levels, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation. USM. The de-sat was done using the paint brush in various seizes choosing a Black Blue (#000509) color and the brush set on the 'Color' mode. I tried to avoid the drops of water as much as I could be they were very hard to discern at times colorwise especially around the green of the trees. Regardless the entire image was de-sated that we except for the base of the fountain. The rest of the image having been completed, I went to hue/saturation and decreased the red hue to -180. That got rid of the color at the base of the fountain.
Resize, USM.
Shot was middle shot of a 3 shot +/- 1/3 bracket.

Doesn't work for me. Looks green not blue, but then again, I have some color issues...

This must have took a while to to desaturate. The blue with the black background. But if it was only a few color, you probably could of used hue/saturation instead of selectivly getting each little dot of color :).
The top of the fountain seems a bit overexposed. I wonder what this would have looked like with a faster or slower shutter-speed. Nice use of the texture in the background, good contrast between foreground/background. Love the impact on the bottom.
