This photo still just blows my mind! I had been showing the other one you won your blue ribbon with to everyone I know. It just takes macro photography to a new stratosphere. I suspect this one will lead the pack in your gallery and exhibit work!

"Give me your lunch money!" LOL - Congrats, Roz - an excellent score and yes, I believe the voting was much harsher in this, a "Best of the year" challenge. |

You got the stupid 2, 3 and 4 votes as well I see. I really wish those that are tired of seeing insect images would just skip these while voting. Lowballing an image because you don't like the subject matter is just plain wrong.
Superbly captured Roz. |

Isn't it weird going from an 8 to a 6.5? A bluebird shot from a series that received my highest-7.4 ended up at 6.6. I was happy with the 6.6, but it also made me very curious: was it because the voting was harsher? Was it because a lot of people don't care as much for the nature photography? It raised interesting questions.
Still love the shot, and this one's just as wonderful!

Small and smaller, I think (took a minute to digest what I'm looking at here). This is really well done. Great details, color, and background. |

Well Roz, it is one of your shots that I like the most!
What is left to be said? Perfect in every way, like it came out of a science fiction movie.
Hope you score well! |

Very nice image, I love the whole nature of this shot, I do wish it was ever so slightly deeper DOF, but at this level of magnification you only have so much ability to stop down before it's a mess I'm sure. The color in the eyes is great, I really like the ruby red in the smaller bug. The eyes on the larger bug do seem to lack detail, and that's a shame, because it would have really pushed this up a notch. |

I remember marveling at the other version of this shot when I saw it. This one is another stunning capture.
I always marvel at the details you capture in these and your backgrounds are always really nice, which I think is what lifts yours above all the other bug macros. |

Hey Roz..this is almost exactly the same shot that won you the blue in the "A bugs life" challenge. (Breakfast on the fly) The only minor difference is the position of the "breakfast's" legs. Just as lovely as that winning shot. |

As always the colors and details of this insect are brought right up front for all to see and appreciate:-) This shot really captures the micro world that one may pass by everyday and not know it. The drama of struggle of the fittest and fastest plays out with this bug eat bug world you show us. |
