GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Congratulations on a very good image that scored well in this demanding "Best of 2009" Challenge.
You used the Topaz program gently and well; your composition was spot on. Your many comments and your fine score tell you that this image is a good one.
Therefore, since "there is nothing to critique here" I shall move on to the next image in the queue. |

This would make a great magazine or brochure cover - technically excellent - very strong composition, great detail, good exposure. Sings of a time gone by, doesn't it? |

Excellent poster stuff Jeb! I figured that this shot was yours, because who else would get such a fine shot of C N 91 and use your trademark processing ? Love all the wispy steam in this. |

How funny - there was another steam locomotive and I saw it first and thought now if they could have isolated it and moved in and. . . and then a bit later what I had in my mind's eye was this and you did what I was thinking!! |

Very well captured. For some reason, the amount of detail you have managed to convey here makes it look like a little model train! |

Oh wow! Excellent shot, one of the best so far (just under 25% voted/commented). I love the entire feel of this image, although I must admit that the vignetting does hurt it just a little bit, not much though. |

The Music Man comes to my mind.... I can just imagine professor Harold Hill stepping off this train in Iowa.
Okay, I'm not sure where that came from but I love this picture with the steam and all!! |

Fabulous detail in this locomotive and I love the compositional angle you shot it in. The tracks extend right out to the bottom right corner. That careful composing of it in that corner diagonal gives one the subtle sense of movement that this train will quickly exit out of our field of vision. Love the steam billowing out for it adds interest to the shot. Great colors and a vibrancy to it. |

Wish there was more/thicker steam to conceal more of the background |

Love the HDR effect you achieved with this shot. You got a wonderful grey scale out of the engine |
