Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions are that there is far too much going on in this shot.
Technically the lighting is too harsh - that will be the flash. Did you bounce it or diffuse it? Composition needs work too - the platter thing is too cramped against the edge of the frame.
Artistically the choice of platter may not have been best but I don't think that's the biggest issue here. The surface you have used is too reflective and that complicates the image rather than allowing us to focus on the fruit and the bowl.
In summary this is a good idea but it just hasn't come off. Try to reduce the harshness of the lighting and make the composition less complex.
Feel free to PM
me if you have any queries.

My impression of a classic still life makes subtle use of natural light or soft light. This seems like a flash was used or a hard light - and that seems to have made you lose some of the natural detail that I'd expect to see in this category. |

I can see you took some time setting up your presentation. The arrangement overall is "ok" for me. Two things holding this back IMO is the lighting, it's quite harsh, and the bg, it's too close and has become part of the presentation. Just my personal observations. Good luck. |

Nice fruit, nice image -- personally I would have preferred a) bananas that don't look like they are ready for the grave and b) pinapples that were not beheaded. (Comment only, no vote) |
