I'm glad this is in the top twenty, but I thought it would ribbon. It is a very evocative image and one that has remained in my mind.

although it looks more crowded this way, the telefocus makes me feel distant from the buzzing main artery of the town

Great shot. It really conveys the essence of that street, and although I don't think I'd really want to be there, the image has beauty. 9

My first impression is, "that sucks (rush hour traffic), I know what that's like." You got my emotional vote. I think most Americans in a large city can relate to this pic.
ETA: I think this caught the essence of a main street that is a different take. A lot of the other submissions are the "pretty" side of a main street. I think this will be(?) one of the under rated images.

Good idea but the overall feel of the shot isn't pleasing. The grain is very offputting

Cool image. Because of the noise, I wonder if it was shot with an iPhone. :) Actually, I don't think the noise adds anything to this image, so my preference would be to remove it. I really like the composition, the colors, and the starry red lights.

picture isn't as clear as it could be, but i give you credit for at least capturing the theme of the challenge... this clearly shows the essence of a NYC street! nice work!
