haha cute, A little baby pot plant. This photo is not too shabby. Nice focus and lighting. But as Nuzzer pointed out, The challenge theme was not apparent enough for the voters to score it well. You have to be totally obvious for some of them to actually get the meaning of a picture. Nice work. |

Thanks for the feedback, really helpful. Just to clear things up, nothing in this photo is set, its just as i found it, same with the editing, only slightly adjusted the contrast. Il do my best to make the purpose of my photographs a little more clear in the future =). cheers |

Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions are that this is a moody shot that contrasts a new plant with some rubbish well.
Technically this is good. The plant is nicely exposed and the composition is good to allow us to compare the two items - a little centered vertically perhaps. The DOF is very shallow and this doesn't let us see much detail in the spray can (I didn't realise that's what this was until I read your notes - I thought it was a coke can or something)
Artistically this rocks! I love these moody shots and now that I know this is a spray can this tells a great story.
In summary the inability for voters to see the link with graffiti killed the score on this shot. If you could have arranged the can so that we could read that it was a spray can then I'm sure this would have done well.
Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.

I think it is an awesome photo. Love the perspective and the tones. Definately didn't deserve to be in the 4s. But as you said it didn't really meet the challenge. Still nicely done. |

thanks for the 4 10's. I didnt expect much from this challenge because the photo does not really fit too well into the topic. I did however hope that some people might enjoy the unique angle on this challenge. Anyways, this was my first entry and it can only get better from here =) |

What to make of this? One of the better/best photos in the challenge, but too far of a reach to connect it to graffiti. (No vote for now.) |

Hmmm I'm having real trouble getting the "graffiti" part of this, however I absolutely love the shot, fantastic DOF and extremely symbolic. So I'm going to give you a DNMC and a fave! |

I scored this one low because I can't see any graffiti in the pix. |

How fragile is the tiny growth of new Life in this sad place of human decay. Eloquent, it speaks volumes with the green silence. Superb juxtaposition. |

where's the graffiti? I mean, I get, it but litter isn't graffiti. I do however really like this photo. |
