This was an actual newspaper article in the Lowell Sun from March 14, 2003... And it was called "See Spot. See Spot Run. See Spot Network", just like that... It was about this popular weekly doggie playgroup which meets on Sundays at a school's soccer field in Acton, MA... It wasn't the same picture, of course - I went there yesterday and took several pictures keeping this idea in mind... This is the one I was most happy with... I cropped it just a little bit and resized and adjusted saturation and contrast ever so slightly...

Exposure is right on in very overcast (I assume) flat lighting. The dog in the foreground is dead center - not to my taste. (You could ealily crop from the left to about where the little guy in the red trunks is - without huring the image.) The title is cutesy - but I doubt if an editor would buy into it.

these are such great dogs!. very unusual coat -- looks like a blue meryl but with a red face. how did you get him not to herd the other dogs? :) would like to be closer the the main subject and the background dogs

The shot is very clear, but strikes me as a snapshot with no particular point of interest or focal point. The balance of the composition is hurt by the dog being centered and a large gap between him and the background scene. Perhaps it could have been more focused on what the dog did to get "news" attention or something along those lines.

Maybe a different title for this newspaper challenge. Probably a dog park, but I see what appears to be a dog show going on in the background I may have played that angle. There are those who may ding you for that title. I may have cropped the dog on the right out as it seems to be a bit distracting. Anyways very good picture with deep dof, everything is quite clear and sharp. Good job.

Nice shot. The only thing I see is that the title is not a headline. Needs something about what is really going on.

Spot is pretty and poses nicely :) I think this would have been more effective had the title referred to the event rather than the dog. Spot should have been more off center too I think.

Cool shot, but not news, The people are where this shot is at, would like a crop of them with their pets.
