I actually sent a PM to everyone, but posting here to explain. There were indeed many people who didn't understand the point of the image. The image is supposed to show the things people give up to own a luxury vehicle. Several people said the items along the wall were out of place, but that was the point. The dingy wall and life-junk contrast with the gleam of the Mercedes hood and the reflection of the ornament on the wall. Clearly it worked alot better in my head than for everyone here. It was well recieved by the paper here, so I don't mind the low standing :) |

Really love the reflection there, haven't seen a picture like that in a while, and I never seem to get mine to work out right! |

I'm not sure I understand what this picture is about. I think it would help if you had less distracting elements in the foreground. |

Sorry, can't really see what the photo is about. It looks interesting but is a bit hard to work out what it is. To me it doesn't really fit into the newspaper catagory without a bit more context or focus. |

I can tell it's a Benz, but it's not very clear. My eye does not know where to be taken. It also doesn't seem to match the "headline" well. |

I can't tell what the reflection in the window is. I must just be looking at it the wrong way... |

I'm at a loss with this one. It appears to be a view of some garage clutter and the door through a car windshield. There is no connection to the challenge. This isn't really much of a photo either. It is out of focus, there is a reflection that makes quite a large glare spot over the whole image. The subject is extremely mundane. |

This goes in order of what I notice first:
1) (First thing that ran through my head) What is that?? Okay, after looking, I get it.
a- A newspaper photo needs to be easily recognizable
b- It needs to focus on the specific subject of the article
2) It's too cluttered, for whatever you did (some sort of reflection?) it needed a plain background to make it clear.
3) Up the contrast some to bring out the silver in that Mercedes symbol, make it stand out!
Score: 4 |

While the reflected light off the hood/windshield gives an interesting effect, the photo does not really have anything else of interest. The mess in the garage in front of the car seems to negate the luxury implications of the headline. There does not seem to be a real connection with any newspaper picture here. |

I am not sure I understand the subject of this photo - what is it? |

Not sure what makes this news with the headline, and the photo is just a large reflection on the wall. While it maybe a good photo, it's not a good newspaper photo. Nice try. |
