Greetings from the Critique Club!
I think this met the challenge well in that it is indeed something people associate with cold. The lighting is pretty good and the stop motion gives it a bit more than just having the ice cubes there. That said, I usually try to "guess" a score before I look - I would have pegged this at about a 5.7 or so. I'm not sure exactly why it didn't score in that range, but perhaps it is the wee bit of awkwardness of the composition. It's not quite square, but it's not a normal aspect ratio either, and the water is coming into the frame not quite in the center. Perhaps these elements contribute to an unease in the photo. Try cropping the right side off - almost to where the water starts. To me that makes a much stronger composition.
