 I rubbed a newspaper with my my fingertip to accentuate the relief in the fingerprint. I taped a small piece of writing paper as a diffuser in front of the built in flash of my camera and used a 60 mm macro lens manually focused.
Crop, levels, s/h, desaturate, colour balance, levels again, resize, sharpen.

With this image you have technically met the challenge. I recognize this is a fingerprint... I think it's such a huge fingerprint that CSI wouldn't even need their complicated computers to match this to a suspect! I can't believe you got that level of detail... what a piece of glass you must have! With all that said, I think you have gotten a bit too close here. The skin is kind of grey and dark. You did get some great textures here! I'll bet you could posterize this and make a fine piece of graphic art to hang on the wall!
