I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Great juxtaposition of the natural and the man-made. I really like the muted colour palette too. Also the sense of coldness is quite pronounced.
Critical stuff: The binoculars look ever so slightly haloed and the blown highlight in the gap in the clouds is a little distracting, mainly because of its proximity to the gull.
Overall: A very enjoyable image which manages to transport the viewer. |

She looks very relaxed. Or despondent. I can't quite tell. And I like the way both of the outside viewers are turned toward the center one - like a bunch of gossips just out enjoying a winter's day. |
