This could be used in a movie as a still of a ghost seen by some character. Very convincing image.

I'm with Deb on this, the first thing that popped in my mine was Anne Frank. This is haunting, a feeling of despair that just makes you ache, very moving.

This makes me think of something like WWII and the Holocaust. A fragment of a memory, suspended in time. Not sure how you did this but it is remarkable.
