Set up at home with a hot light to the right of camera. I wanted a somewhat eerie feel with a darkness and deep shadows. Edited with topaz, crop, healed a few spots, lightness and contrast layer and masked it to just bring out the dolls eyes, blurred the sheet in the back a little, resized, usm and sfw.

Thank you all for the comments. I was trying for a somewhat creepy feel with this shot and it seems like I managed to do that, at least a little bit. After I submitted it I realized the background blur was, well, pretty poorly done; sorry :( I also meant to eliminate some of the dust and dirt on the table, something I did do on some of the out takes but forgot to do on this one, oops. Overall I think this did fairly well and I think it would of done much better if I had been a bit more careful in the pp. |

Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions are that the shot is a bit flat and soft.
Technically the editing here jumps out out you - and not in a good way. The blurred background doesn't merge with the floor in a natural way. Composition is good. As I mentioned before the shot feels a bit flat.
Artistically this rocks! The concept is great and the doll is staring right at us - very creepy indeed. Great chair, it fits the concept well.
In summary this has great potential but the technicals let it down, as you have already noted.
Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.

What's going on on the floor there? One of his victims?

The processing on this makes it look like it came from an old toy camera. Nice job. |

The blur on the background is a bit too obvious and not so well finished. But I'm glad you didn't cut a part of the rocking chair at the bottom left. |
