Tried to get an Ansel Adams sort of shot. But the snow was too heavy in the air and not sticking nicely to the tree.

Oh well.

I learned about snow quality with this shot. You want to have a heavy snow that sticks - this provides the contrast with the darkness of the limbs. This shot doesn't quite get there because the outside temperature was so warm that the snow was melting as fast as the flakes were landing. Therefore, not much accumulation on the limbs. Also, it was snowing heavily with large, heavy flakes and this snowfall got in the way of the subject.

It was fun to set up the tripod and have a go, though!
