Excellent "action" shot, I had totally forgotten about them getting the cane that way. I saw it in Hawaii but for some reason never thought of Florida doing that too. I hope all the birdies got away... |

I read your blog post and still don't know why they burn the cane field... why? Great shots, by the way! |

Awesome capture - a free study worthy kind of image. Love how the birds are swirling around the fire. I read why they do in your blog. This is a very interesting photo! |

Wow, that is dramatic! Interesting to read that this is the way it's done and not a terrible disaster! there are really two worlds in this picture, almost like heaven and hell. |

FYI - The tractor is actually creating the file. It has a little flame thrower adn it drives down the rows and sets the fields on fire. Then another tractor comes along with a hose & sprays the fire to put it out.
It was very amazing to watch and we were right there across a little street. |

This is incredible!!! What a moment of drama to observe. Birds fleeing and here's the guy with the tractor thing - you don't know if he's trying to outrun it or if he's just sitting there watching in his rear view, or even if he doesn't know. I just love it. Great angles and crop too, like the big plunging diagonal and intense colour. |

really great colors and such a contrast between them from the cloudy sky to the heat and smoke of the cane burn
if you had shot with a little higher shutter the flame would be a bit sharper still very nice capture all the same
off to ya blog now

I know Belle Glade, it's inland from WPB. This is a very interesting shot, lots of color and intensity and the birds add a dynamic touch. Looks like the dry season hath struck again ;-) |

Brilliant shot - colours, composition, textural detail and an interesting scene. I wouldn't like to swap places with the tractor driver! |
