 Used flash due to thick jungle cover.

Just for info this is a real bird in the wild. Shot while on a canopy tour in the Costa Rica dry forest outside Jaco. Had to use flash to assure light on the bird and was surprised that it came out this sharp at 1.250/sec. But I can understand how some wouold think it is fake.

The flash and VR worked together to make this little guy stand out from the jungle. I like the one toe being up. it's as if he's trying to tell you something. Most people who are not photographers never notice how beautiful and colorful real birds can be.

Sorry!! I had to vote a 1 here though. My reason was that your photograph didn't show any distinct foreground or background framing of your main subject. Essentially your subject is in the same plane as your frame.


Per this comment, and this comment, plus a private message, I have decided to give you a new score, It is now a 5 for the other qualities of this image (despite what I feel is still a DNMC image). Now go thank Bear_Music for he does make good sense sometimes, or at least inspires me to be a bit more open minded (or at least punish people slightly less for what I see as either shoehorning or a failure to take a reasonably literal interpretation of the rules..)

Such a cool looking bird, a perfect photo, almost too perfect to be real! The leaves twisting around the branch are a perfect touch. Nature is wonderful.

1st thought was "great photo", then I thought "that cant be a real bird, how can it fly, it must be photo shopped"
But I know its a real bird in good focus and nice bg and well framed on two side.
