So, these are the feet of a Pharaoh in the Vatican museums in Rome. I always find the exhibits a ironic really, the efforts that these ancient Kings went to to be protected and enjoy eternal life has only made them interesting enough to be stared at by tourists for the rest of their afterlives, and once-idolised by the Catholic Church. This chap in particular suffered the indignation of having had his face and feet uncovered by an over-zealous Pope many years ago.

I guess the point - if there is one - with this shot is to make you think about what it is that you're looking at bit, and the cost of getting it there.

Also bet you thought you'd never see a mummy's feet on DPC, I'm glad to have have caused such a polarisation of opinion!

I can't tell if this is a sculpture or not but I do find it quite intriguing. Your use of light and colortone really does a nice job of enhancing the drama. I hope to read more about what this is after the challenge!

7 - Like the texture that is visible and would like to see more of it, especially on both sides of the frame.

Whoaa... for a moment there I thought that was a dead Avatar... :) Anyway, creepy, awesome, interesting, and fine art all rolled into one... Great shot!

Death come to us all. Nice photograph. I assume that this is a sculpture and thus credit for the artistic vision should go to the sculptor, but you have taken advantage of it to create a powerful photo.

Fascinating both as a subject and as a photograph. Textures, light, color/toning all work.

I am giving this a 10 for several reasons. 1. The technical is good. 2. You were brave enough to enter this shot at DPC. 3. I fear you may be voted down because of your subject matter. Great shot.

A mummy, I assume. But in my opinion, not fine art. Although it is compositionally good, and you've taken an overall nice photograph with good technicals, I don't know why you took this photograph at all. Are you in there somewhere? Where? What's going on? What does it all mean? Speak to me, already...
