I liked your image. The noise/grain did not detract for me. There was something compelling, the feel of the image, wondering about what it was about. I was thinking sails at first but the title cleared that up nicely. |

I agree with bvy about the would be grain - as the week passed it bugged me more and more. I have no pp skills to speak of; all I do is mess with the light and dark and colour sliders and crude sharpening in Irfanview - a subtle combination of ineptness and lack of will.
All comments appreciated.

FWIW - I was one of your 22s. The technique looks like stippling run amok, maybe, or maybe not.
Mysterious and compelling. Keeps the viewer in the frame for a long time. |

The grain is too staticky, too noisy, too digital. I struggle with this. There may well come a day that digital noise matches film grain in terms of its artistic value. I like the composition here so much, though, that I have to throw lots of points your way. |

5 - The composition doesn't appeal to me. |

Just seems busy and not really doing much to get my attention, I'm afraid. I do appreciate seeing the attemtpts at trying something different, however. You don't know if you don't toss it in there. |

The grain in this puts me in mind of a plague of locust. I assume this is at your local driving range eh :). Very affective shot |

Though not particularly appealing to me personally, (due to the heavy grain content,) that same grain content does give this photo a high artistic value as pointillism. This fact sets-up conflicting emotions in me.
Ultimately, I give you a "7" for hitting the challenge dead-center artistically. :) |

I love the grain - reminds me of a pen and ink drawing. |

Would I hang this on my wall. Perhaps, I like the composition. I judge on what I would hang in my apartment. I would like to see this smaller and in a "larger" frame. Just like good art should be. I almost would like to see more at the bottom, but maybe this is good so. You will have to live with my 7. Maybe later I pump up to a 8. Not sure at the moment |

Nice abstract. I like it even better after I figure out it's not a ship. You evoke a ship. |
