Greetings, yet another critique for you :)
This is simply not a DPC friendly image.
I actually like the pastel look, but I can promise this would finish in the 4's here...
Now, add in a bit of Topaz and a bit of dodge and burn, some color work, and whamo- you'll boost that score..
But, compositionally, this image still leaves much to be desired, our subject is small and insignificant, it doesn't draw the eye anywhere, I just kind of randomly wander around the shot...
Try getting under the pier, it's very nice under there, or try getting some good street photography in as Pier 60 always has an interesting crowd around.. As you may have recently guessed, I used to live just a short walk away from here.. Early 2000's I lived on the next island, Belle Air Beach, just south of Clearwater Beach... I spent many a night/day on that pier, so I know just how much better this should look! |
