.22LR meets rubber ducky. Captured in a dark room with a sub-microsecond flash using an acoustic trigger. Shot with a Nikon D200 and a 50mm f1.4 lens (It belongs to MIT I believe)

For more details on the flash, see here

Actually, it's fairly easy to capture the bullet. The flash is triggered via a microphone connected to a device that lets you set the delay in milliseconds. So, we set up and aimed the rifle on a fixed stand. We measured the distance from the muzzle to the target we knew the muzzle velocity and the speed of sound and the distance to the mic, so it was simple math to figure out when the bullet would arrive vs. when the sound would hit the mic. There was a little bit of trial and error, maybe 2 or 3 frames where the bullet was not exactly where we wanted it.

so what is your other information...ISO, shutter speed, aperture??? This is great...it has to take some very skilled timing to capture the bullet...as they are so very, very fast...wow...although I will add that your sensor is very, very dirty...hmmm

So annoying that guns are illegal over here! I would love to play with shots like this (My comments isnt intended to start a legality of guns debate I am coming from an artistic standpoint!!)

Cool shot
