 Shot at the finish line at the local fun run charity I was shooting this weekend. A little topaz to accentuate the hair and a little noise ninja to reduce the noise.

A little bit noisy and perhaps a bit heavy handed on the topaz, but I backed off a bit from where it was originally. Hopefully this will do OK.

Post-challenge: Was confused about the voting on this one, til I saw the dispersion in the votes ... mostly meh, but lots more haters than lovers. So it goes. A more normal distribution between highs and lows would have landed me closer to where I expected. I think the 2009 on his bib had some people thinking this was shot last year, and they voted low because of it. At least the votes picked up a bit after it was validated. (The organizers ran out of the official bibs, and had to use some old ones due to the oversubscription to this race.)

I truly don't see the noise in this picture. The focus, yes, a bit soft since I was shooting wide open and the sharp spot is on the hand, not the face. And maybe a little too much Topaz for some tastes ... I get that too. But the noise? Just don't see it, or more accurately i just don't see the noise that's there as objectionable. Did a few (typically) light passes with Noise Ninja over it -- one before and one after resize -- and that worked for me.
