This is a very nice shot, classic posing and well done overall. The light on the top is a bit harsh and overpowers the rest of the shot and is unbalanced, giving light on the left shoulder leaving the right should dark. Also the cropping could be just a bit lower on the bottom, bringing the entire arm into the shot. A 5 |

Lighting: Works.
Pose: Classic but not over-done. Could have possible been better with a slightly above eye level perspective.
Background: Works, but while it does not conflict with the subject, it does not compliment either.
The image is suffering from noise that could have been cleaned up. Also, since this is an advanced challenge, smoothing out her skin tones would have made a more flattering portrait. |

A l.ovely young lady in a nice pose! The lighting here seems to be to concentrated from above. If you had a touch more sidelighting, it would give more depth to her face and might help with the blown out part of her shirt. Nice background and background lighting!

The "nimbus" is a little overly-bright to me, but a good idea/effect anyway; like your background. |

Nice portrait; could use a bit more brightness in her face, IMHO. The light on her shoulder is a tad distracting. Nice, muted background. :o) |

The light shining on top of her head is somewhat distracting. More light is needed on her face. |

The white balance seems off. I can see the yellow cast from the lights above and the bue-ish cast on the face from the flash. This will happen with incorrect white balance. |

The lights looks maybe in wrong place (shining brightly on only one shoulder) - and maybe a little stiff. |

Aside from the hairlight the lighting is not creatve but it does qualify as a formal studio portait.... 7 |

Great lighting and background for Amy. Hair lighting and shoulder lighting is PERFECT. Amy is gorgeous but her pose seems a bit forced. Good submission. |

try using construction paper or a cone to keep the hair light from bleeding onto the subject |

This seems flat and unnaturally colored. |

NIce. The only nit is some blemish touch-up would have helped. |

I think you lost some quality in jpg-compression. It's a sweet picture, but a bit boring. |

The backlight on her hair is a little bright.
Otherwise a good clean image

I think she needed to wear a contrasting color to compliment her pretty hair color. The white washes her out too much. Also I'm a little bothered by the one shoulder lit and other lost in shadow. The pose is nice and so is your backdrop. Good luck in the challenge. |

Nice. Bottom half of photo seems to need better lighting though. |

Nice attempt. I can tell you probably didn't have very good lights to work with. |
