 My favorite flower. Hills are blooming, full of Indian mustard and lupin. The California poppy, and it's various versions are out and about.

Why BW? Because I like it! Actually, the color version is beautiful, but really overwhelms the soft, delicate feel of the flower. Here is a Gold Poppy from last Spring.

This is really nice. I like the color version but B&W suits it well, it allows me to focus more on the flower instead of the color.

Really lovely composition. I do wish that more texture could be seen in the delicate petals of the poppy, but the composition is great. I would love to see this one in color..if the colors are anything like your gold poppy entry from last spring it would really be awesome!

There's a lovely feel to this one, and I like how transparent the poppy is in the light, but I really, really, really love the color one you included as a thumbnail. A favorite!

The b/w version has a wonderful painterly quality about it, I think you should do more like this.

You've inspired me. I processed a few poppies in B&W earlier today but didn't follow through. I shall go play and follow through! I do like them in B&W. I do like them in color, too. And can't say as I have ever seen a golden one in person!
