A buddy of mine spins poi. This was us just playing around with long exposures late in the evening in my back yard.

Lighting:
One strobe on each side, no gels, high up and slightly behind. There's the obvious flare from one of them on the right, which I left in because I think it provides a nice "echo" to the moon. The side strobes also served to paint in a mid-ground tree (happy accident).
One light, 1/2 CTO, in front about chest high with a stofen.
Silver fabric spread out at his feet for bounce.

Thanks for the great eye candy! Love the use of painting with light and flash! Great choice, of keeping the subject in the dark trees. Oh and the moon and sky are just great! Nice to see, a not so common freestudy choice. Thank you for being so outside the box! Can't wait to see who you are! I too am a painting with light junkie, so give my portfolio a look. Maybe we can share our secret LED secrets! lol

Was this all a single exposure? If so, great job with background lighting.
