Greetings from the Critique Club!
Composition:
This is an interesting shot. The expressions on the actor's faces are very intriguing. A couple people said that you should crop off a lot on the right of the photo. While this would remove the bright sun spots on the grass, it would also cut off the man's left hand. I think it's one or the other, you can't have best of both worlds.
Lighting:
Your photo appears to be over-exposed in the man's shirt, as well as the grass in the upper-right. While the shadows are black, I think raising the ISO, or a faster shutter would've still left these area's black, but would've solved the over-exposure problems.
Technical:
Your photo is technically sound, the shot is in focus. I do however think you could've raised the ISO, as 50 isn't really needed for a shot such as this. It would've fixed your exposure as well.
Post-processing:
I'm not sure what you did as far as editing. It might've been advantageous of you to lower the brightness in the shot, although getting proper exposure is more important for this shot.
Overall:
This is an excellent capture of a play. While it is interesting, it's also not going to win you any ribbons. I hope you do better in the future. |
