 Taken during a bush walk for my yearly challenge to take 52 photos of trees. Saw these wonderful yellow flowers and shot them with a shallow depth of field so I could focus on one or two instead of the whole bunch. It was only later in Lightroom when I was playing around did I see the beauty of the shot here. Essentially is is a sepia mono and I have burnt away from of the distractions around the edges.

I love the calligraphic ebb & flow of energy in this & I have a great fondness for soft flat light on white petals, yes I do. So here is a Gilded Lily for you!

I get the post treatment (reinforced by your title) applied to this image. I like it overall - has a nice "feel" to it. I wonder if it would be stronger with the blossoms a little lighter/brighter? Just some observations. Good luck in the challenge.

Oh. I really like this. I wish the exposure were up just a tad... but I love that dark and light and the composition. (not voting)
