 Clifton beach, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Taken at the 18mm end of the lens. I used a 3-stop graduated neutral density filter to hold back exposure in the sky, and maybe also a 2-stop neutral density filter to increase exposure time.

Lightroom RAW conversion. Noise reduction, resize, sharpen and save for web.

Lots of drama in that sky, and beneath the deceptive smoothness of the water.

A really nicely composed and exposed for shot. Has great balance between the shorefront and the sky. Both with diagonal leading lines ;)

It's nice, but I almost wonder if it would be even better if you'd waited a few more minutes for the sun to dip below the horizon.
